Fitness coach Jess Pritchard is launching an in-person journal club in Central London, designed to help people reconnect with themselves through the power of writing and self-reflection.
Jess’s journey has been anything but linear. Originally an actor, she transitioned into the fitness industry eight years ago. Like many women, Jess struggled in her early years with body image and confidence, stuck in a cycle of people-pleasing before listening to her own needs. When she was 24, Jess was faced with another pivotal life moment – losing her father. Grieving, she turned to something she had always loved since she was a teen: journaling.
Writing became a lifeline, helping her process pain, rebuild confidence, and reconnect with herself. In her words, she grew tired of “shrinking” and decided to take up space in her own life. Now 30, she’s dedicated to helping others do the same.
Jess has long used the tagline “Take Up Your Space” as a personal trainer. For her, it’s a mantra about cultivating confidence, self-love, and emotional resilience. Journaling, she says, is one of the most powerful tools to do just that.
To bring this philosophy to life, Jess is launching MIRRA Journal Club, a welcoming, in-person space for people to explore their thoughts and process their feelings without judgement. Open to everyone, the club is about becoming your own best friend and embracing the idea that you are allowed to Take Up Space.
The first MIRRA Journal Club will take place on Monday, 12 August from 6:30–8:00 PM at The Ministry, Borough, London.
Tickets are available via Eventbrite, with early bird prices from £9–12: Book here.
