SPMU (Semi-permanent makeup) business based in Newcastle; Lolface has started their mission in getting SPMU available on the NHS because of the amazing confidence it gives people who have lost hair due to cancer treatments and alopecia. Situated in Gateshead, Lolface offers SPMU and SPMU teaching courses, they are also a finalist for Health and Beauty Awards of the Year 2022, and have been recognised for their treatments for the last three years.
This latest project will see founder of Lolface, Lauren Moulding offer free SPMU to 5 people who have undergone hair loss due to invasive treatments or illness. This project is completely free, without any funding. She is doing this in order to gather evidence of how much SPMU can improve mental health, confidence and overall life enjoyment for people who have gone through such a traumatic experience in their life.
“I want to gather this evidence in the hope of receiving funding from different sources, one of them being the NHS. I want the NHS to be able to offer SPMU to these people, if I can gather evidence and prove how much it does improve the lives of people, hopefully they might listen and put it into action.” says Lauren Moulding about the project.

Lauren is also raising money to offer free treatments for people who have lost hair due to cancer treatments and alopecia. Cancer affects 1 in 2 people, and many of these people lose their hair due to the invasive treatments they go through. SPMU isn’t available on the NHS so Lauren the founder of Lolface wants to offer the treatments for free!
She is motivated to do this as these treatments give them confidence after going through so much trauma. Their goal is to raise £2300, which would pay for 10 people to get free microblading or tattoo eyebrows at LolFace. For every person that gets it paid for from the funding, she will offer another completely free so that will actually cover 20 people’s treatments!
The crowdfunding project was started at the beginning of August 2021 and they have already raised over £240 towards their target. You can find the Just Giving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/lolfacespmu.
