Harvey in hospitcal contract 10th anniversary

Queen Elizabeth Hospital

Leading Henley-in-Arden based commercial decoration company Harvey UK is celebrating 10 years of decorating the largest single-site hospital in the country.

Harvey won the contract to carry out the painting, decorating and finishing work at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham in 2010. In the latest phase of the contract Harvey is decorating the hospital’s new mental health facilities on the QE estate.

Harvey UK decorated the £550 million 1,000-bed hospital when it first opened in 2010. Since then the company has carried out a rolling programme of refurbishment as well as reactive maintenance when required.

Harvey UK Managing Director Tony Harvey said they were privileged to have such an important contract.

“We have seen the hospital grow and develop over the years, and much of the work we do there is quite specialist. Being a hospital, cleanliness and safety are of paramount importance,” he said.

The Queen Elizabeth hospital has one of the largest transplantation programmes in Europe and is a national specialist centre for liver, heart and lung transplants. Its 100-bed critical care unit is the largest in the world and it is also home to the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine for military personnel injured in conflict zones.

Other hospital contracts delivered by Harvey UK include Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and the Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge.

Established in 1966, Harvey UK is a family-owned commercial decoration and maintenance specialist, working on major projects in the industrial, education, health, local authority and residential sectors.

With offices in Henley-in-Arden and London, the group has a wide portfolio of blue-chip client projects including JLR, Muller, the NHS, Kier, Barratt Homes, Skanska, Lendlease and the Royal Air Force.
