GBW hosts a bake-off for Leukaemia Care

Midlands marketing agency Gough Bailey Wright (GBW) has raised over £100 for worthwhile charity, Leukaemia Care, by hosting its annual bake sale.

The Halloween themed bake-off saw the team of 25 put their culinary skills to the test and there wasn’t a soggy bottom in sight! Instead there was a mix of eerie eye balls, rocky toads, spooky spider cookies and even a scary slime cake which would have impressed master baker, Paul Hollywood himself.

Web developer, Jax Cichocki, won the competition for the second year in a row with his Haunted House cake which was a two-tiered Victoria sponge cake with a white chocolate house, complete with gravestones and pumpkins, and took over 10 hours to create.

Michelle Wright, Company Director at GBW, said: “Leukaemia Care is a charity close to all of our hearts, so it was fabulous to see the team get so on board with our annual bake-off and the results not only looked amazing, but tasted great too.”

Digital communications officer for Leukaemia Care and chief judge of the bake-off, Alex Halfpenny, commented: “Gough Bailey Wright’s Bake-off Halloween special was incredible and there are some very talented bakers within the team. We are extremely grateful to GBW for the money raised as every penny counts and this will help us to continue to offer advice and support for all those affected by blood cancer.”
