Foxley Kingham Anniversary Foundation get behind Wicketz in Luton

The Lord’s Taverners Wicketz programme, a free community cricket programme initially aimed at hard-to-reach youngsters aged 8-19 within areas of high deprivation across the UK, is set to receive a boost in Luton thanks to a new partnership with the Foxley Kingham Anniversary Foundation.

The fundraising of Foxley Kingham, an independent firm of chartered accountants and business advisers that provides specialist advice on a wide range of financial matters, will help boost the programme in the Luton community which has already made huge strides in bringing people together through cricket while educating young people on vital social issues such as knife crime and healthy eating.

Using cricket as a hook to engage young people who live in communities where there are few opportunities to play the game regularly, Wicketz is now active in 19 locations across the country.

Crystal Boston, Foxley Kingham Anniversary Foundation: “We are excited to be working alongside the Lord’s Taverners in our common aim of helping the youth of Luton and hitting this partnership for six!”

Lord’s Taverners Chief Executive, Paul Robin, added: “Wicketz in Luton has been a major success story for us and with the support of the Foxley Kingham Anniversary Foundation we’ll be able to positively influence communities to an even greater extent in the area through cricket. Nothing unites people quite like sport and in partnership with the Foundation we’ll be able to do so much good through this great game.”
