Employment advice dished up at free HR Lunch Club

Tracy Worthington

Employment issues around data breaches, whistleblowing, company parties and bereavement leave for parents will be on the menu at a free HR lunch club on November 14.

Wolverhampton law firm FBC Manby Bowdler will host the event at its office in George Street, Snow Hill, from 12.45pm to 2pm. It is open to anyone who has to deal with employees at any level, from experienced in-house human resources managers to those with no HR experience.

Lawyers from the firm’s employment team will be on hand to answer any questions and there will be a light lunch served.

Employment partner Tracy Worthington said: “The HR Lunch Club is open to people working in any sector and is an informal and informative way to bring yourself up to speed on the latest developments in employment law.

“As well as the usual round-up of recent cases and key themes and trends in HR, we’ll be tackling the impact of a recent decision involving the Morrisons’ supermarket chain and the malicious data breach by a disgruntled employee, the development of whistleblowing and how an individual employee can be personally liable for a whistleblowing dismissal, the interesting case of a company office party where the organisation became liable for an assault on an employee at an impromptu after-party and the new Parental Bereavement (Pay and Leave) Act.”
