A leading estate agent – who has been dominating one county – is now selling residential properties further afield.
Critchlow Estate Agents, which launched in 2020, surpassed all expectations of founder Martin Critchlow when selling just under 200 houses in Staffordshire in the first year.
Less than twelve months later 425 residential properties were sold in the same area and the green Critchlow signs can now be seen across Cheshire – where 35 houses have been sold in the last six months.
The Critchlow signs are also breaking ground further North towards Manchester, where sales and lettings are under their belts.
“When I first started the business in 2020 I never envisioned selling as many houses as we did in our first year,” says founder Martin Critchlow.
“As our business has grown we have naturally been expanding into other regions including Cheshire where we have already sold properties in Shavington, Nantwich, Congleton and Crewe. Our Cheshire listings are getting more and more and we have also already sold properties in the Manchester area and have a lot of interest – which has been great. Naturally we have been growing further North as the business and our services grow – which is all part of the plan.”
Martin adds: “We have also sold properties beyond the Midlands and towards the south – which has been incredible to see.”
To compliment the growth, new team member Alison Proudfoot was welcomed into the company as Lettings Manager in April, and recently Lauren Whitehouse joined as Administrator and Credit Control – seeing not only the team grow to four full-time staff, but the services provided.
Martin adds: “In May 2021, Lee Dono joined us as Sales Manager and this year Alison Proudfoot joined the team as Lettings Manager.
“When Lee joined us it meant we could further develop our services and now Alison is with us we are growing our lettings side of the business. Also, introducing Lauren to the team is another big help for everything we are doing.
“We have a great team and all of us have a wealth of experience in the industry spanning more than 45-years between us and it is only natural we continue to expand into other regions.
“We all have a great knowledge of the regions we work in and Alison is very experienced with lettings, whether working with experienced or new landlords and we are delighted to have her join us.”
Alison adds: “Critchlow Estate Agents just keep going from strength to strength and have done amazing in their first two years. I love the whole ethos of the business and the importance of customer relations which is there throughout every journey.

Fifty plus Staffordshire lettings have been arranged via the Critchlow team in the past few months plus another five in Cheshire.
The agency operates on a fixed fee basis for completion of all Sales with the same service also for Lettings.
Martin said: “Charging a fixed fee has always been important to me and we have always found this a great way to work with our clients, so we are continuing to offer this on all lettings too.”
