Richard Newton, CEO at the Tipton & Coseley Building Society will be taking part in a 10-hour indoor charity bike ride on 24th November at his local gym. Richard is raising funds for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
Midlands Air Ambulance funds three air ambulances serving the communities of six Midlands counties: Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. Since 1991, the charity has responded to more than 50,000 missions averaging 2,000 per year, making it one of the longest established and busiest air ambulance organisations in the UK.
Midlands Air Ambulance receives no Government or National Lottery funding and is reliant on individual and corporate donations to remain operational. Each Ambulance mission costs £2,500 and in excess of £9 million is needed each year to maintain three vital helicopters.
Richard said: ‘Midlands Air Ambulance is our staff charity for the year and I’m committed to helping us raise over £5,000 in total this year. Midlands Air Ambulance do such a fantastic job helping to save many lives every year and Tipton & Coseley Building Society is very proud to support it’.
