Can businesses look to sport for a performance upgrade?

Legendary manager Big Ron Atkinson and Solihull Moors FC Chairman Darryl Eales are just two of the names already confirmed for an event entitled “A Sporting Mind” which will take place at Solihull Moors Football Club on the 9th of July.

Ron Atkinson

The event is an intriguing mixture of sport and business and will discuss using elite performance management techniques in business and addressing the mental health problem in sport. Set against a backdrop of sporting turmoil over the European Superleague, a massive mental health crisis and a struggling economy it is certain to stimulate a lively debate.

“I think business can learn a lot from sport,” said Ron, “there’s certainly more crossover than you’d think, and I’m looking forward to a lively debate.”

Often remembered for the controversial ending of his ITV career, Big Ron’s 28-year managerial career included spells at Manchester United and Atlético Madrid as well as West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa. He won several honours including the FA Cup and League Cup twice as well as several promotions. More recently Ron appeared in Celebrity Big Brother and as a pundit on MUTV and William Hill’s “The Punt” podcast.

Darryl Eales

Businessman Darryl Eales is a serial entrepreneur and investor as well as a strong supporter of the local community and raised considerable funds for UK, regional and international charities. Darryl has been Owner and Chairman of Solihull Moors since August 2018 having previously been a Director of Oxford United during their promotion to League one in 2016.

The evening is being organised by 4th Revolution Marketing and partnered by UK News Group. It marks the first in a series of events planned for 2021 as Covid-19 restrictions begin to ease and represents an early opportunity for “business as usual” for corporate Birmingham’s business community.

“I think the business community are just anxious to get back to some kind of normality, and that includes networking.” stated Andy George, Owner of 4th Revolution Marketing and 20 year media and events veteran. “There has never been a more important time to get out and make new contacts as well as rekindle some old relationships. If you can have a nice dinner and learn a few things from incredibly successful people like Ron and Darryl even better.”

Tickets to the dinner start at £50 and can be purchased by visiting https://4threv.co.uk/event-ticket-sales/ or by calling Andy George on 07855 527 315.
