Guy Revell, Asset Manager at Bruntwood, has been named Rising Star of the Midlands at the third annual British Council for Offices (BCO) NextGen Awards.

The Awards are part of the BCO’s NextGen programme, which sets out to mentor and encourage the next generation of professionals to become future leaders in the industry, whilst providing a platform for new talent to share ideas. The awards dinner, which took place at etc. venues London, was attended by the country’s top designers, developers, architects and occupiers under the age of 35. It celebrate the achievements and successes of young professionals in the commercial property sector across the UK, and the individuals who mentored them.

The BCO NextGen Rising Star award recognises an under 35’s outstanding contribution to the office sector in their region. This year, the Midlands judging panel named Bruntwood’s Guy Revell, Asset Manager, as the winner of the accolade.

As well as being involved with the hugely successful local Cornerblock development, Guy is also a member of, and proactive contributor to, the BCO NextGen Midlands committee – as well as to RICS Matrics and BPA Birmingham. He is also working with a number of charities, where he helps young adults improve their employability skills.

The local BCO NextGen judging panel praised Guy for his personability and professionalism, noting his passion for the built environment and his “unflappable“ nature. They noted that he is clearly forward-thinking – and that he is currently looking at inward investment to Birmingham and the wider economic impact of this on the local offices market as part of his work with the local BCO chapter.

Gemma Wilkinson, Chair of the BCO NextGen Midlands Committee, commented: “Guy has proven himself invaluable to his colleagues as well as being an asset to the sector of workplace, his calm and selfless passion drives projects forward no matter the challenge. His focus and commitment are infectious to those who have the pleasure of working with him. “

Katrina Kostic Samen, President of the BCO, said: “It is clear from his nomination that Guy is not only an accomplished young professional but also well respected and liked by his peers. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next for him, and extend my congratulations for his win”
