Black Country accountants’ investment drive with new director

L-R: David Baldwin (Baldwins) with Amarjit Dhadwal

A Walsall business advisory firm has made a new senior appointment to drive growth and expansion across the region.

Amarjit Dhadwal has joined Baldwins Accountants, which is based in Lichfield Street, as a Director.

He joins with 20 years of general accountancy experience – including 11 years with a Top 10 accountancy firm – and will be responsible for attracting inward investment.

The appointment comes as Baldwins –who now have 63 offices nationwide – continue to acquire other accountancy practices around the UK offering a complete business advisory service.

Amarjit said: “My target is to attract at least one new client a week, and given the current business climate in the region, I’m really excited about the challenge.

“I’m seeing increasing amounts of work being referred to us by banks from owner managers who need access to financial services that their current accountant can’t provide, despite being with them for many years.

“This might be preparing themselves for the impending Making Tax Digital legislation, anticipating a tough trading period or they might be seeking further investment.

“The way Baldwins is structured with 63 offices around the UK and a plethora of specialist teams means our Walsall office is ideally based to help Black Country businesses access specific services beyond accountancy.

“I’ve spent all of my accountancy career in the West Midlands and overall l think the mood is very positive despite worries about the impact of Brexit and collapse of companies such as Carillion.

“Many Black Country businesses are continuing to grow or trade flat, and I believe that companies won’t truly feel any effects from Brexit until it has actually happened, so I would recommend that businesses seek early professional financial advice to ensure they’re ready for any future obstacles.”

Baldwins, a CogitalGroup company, is one of the UK’s leading business services groups. Currently, CogitalGroup has 4,700 people operating from 150 offices in seven countries, with revenue in excess of £320 million.
