Beauty and beasts: Contemporary artist Louise Howard to unveil whimsical show ‘Leonard & Co’ in London

Fresh from the critical success of her solo exhibition ‘In Catfood and Wine’, London-based contemporary artist Louise Howard returns with a striking new show: ‘Leonard & Co’.

The show highlights her signature fusion of realism and abstraction, brought to life through her moody, nuanced colour palette and masterful use of texture.

The title pays tribute to Louise’s long-time muse, her cat Leonard Cohen, who makes several appearances throughout the collection. His presence, alongside dogs, mice and other members of a whimsical menagerie, adds both intimacy and mischief to the body of work.

To celebrate the launch of Leonard & Co, Howard will host an exclusive art preview evening on 18 September 2025, from 6 to 8pm.

The evening will feature music and wine, and will be hosted at The Ministry, a members’ club and creative space by the Ministry of Sound group. Housed in a beautifully restored Victorian printworks on Borough Road, the venue provides a striking backdrop for Louise’s bold and evocative works.

In support of animal welfare, 10% of all sales on the night will be donated to Jai Dog Rescue, a UK-registered charity working to improve the lives of street dogs in Thailand.

Members of the press, art critics, and the contemporary art community are warmly invited to attend.
