Couples will get the chance to look at a Shropshire 18th century Georgian wedding venue when they open their doors next month.
Grade II listed Stockton House, on the Apley Estate at Norton, will hold a wedding showcase on Sunday 5 October alongside St Chad’s Church next door.
The event at the venue on the A442 between Telford and Bridgnorth will offer an exclusive opportunity to view the ceremony areas inside and out as well as VIP suppliers.
Venue Manager at the award-winning location, Amy Applegarth, said they are very excited to welcome people for the last time this year.
“The wedding showcases at Stockton House are always very popular,” she said.
“We hold three a year, generally in January, March and October, so during this last one for 2025 we look forward to welcoming happy couples – especially those who got engaged over the summer as they may only just be starting to visualise their dream day.
“People looking to attend and see what we have on offer must book in advance so they can see our beautiful surroundings and envisage their special day here as well as sample the food and drink we offer.
“As well as Stockton House, including the Secret Garden and Pretty Victorian Turning House, there will be a chance to look inside the nearby St Chad’s Church too for couples who would like to hold the ceremony just a stone’s throw away in this historic church.”
During the showcase, which takes place from 11am to 3pm, the wedding breakfast will be set up in the latest décor trend for 2026 and there will be suppliers including a photographer, videographer, florist, cake maker, wedding dress and gentlemen’s attire, wines and champagne.
It will also give visitors the chance to meet the Stockton House Team, who have helped the venue scoop a silver award in the Best of Bridebook Awards 2025, recognising the excellent service provided to couples who got married or had their reception there during the previous year.
The venue also won Best Venue (Other) at The Wedding Industry Awards for 2024, just 18 months after opening and was also National Highly Commended Venue (Other) at the awards evening in London for 2024.
In addition, Amy herself won Luxury Wedding Venue Manager of the Year (West Midlands) at the 2024 Influential Businesswoman Awards.
The country house is situated in 8,000 acres of Apley Estates picturesque Shropshire countryside and has seven bedrooms.
It was fully renovated during 2022 to be transformed into a wedding venue, having been a family home beforehand.
Also in the Apley Estate is 1,500 acres of woodland, a further 3,500 acres of in hand farmland farmed to high environmental standards and 3,500 acres of let farmland.
