Agency bosses step up – with their kids – for charity

Alex and his eleven year old daughter Theia will be trekking fifty miles across the Peak District to raise funds for Young Minds

Founding partners of Stoke B2B marketing agency Lesniak Swann are dusting off their walking boots to take on a 50 mile charity challenge across the Peak District, and they’ve roped their kids in too.

Alex Swann and Mark Lesniak are challenging themselves and their kids to complete the 50 mile trek from their home-town of Stoke to Sheffield to raise funds for the company’s Charity of the Year, Young Minds.

Walking the trail alongside the childhood friends will be Alex’s eleven year old daughter, Theia, and Mark’s two sons Miles and Jackson.

Alex and Mark have already worked out the route for the three day hike which kicks off on May 29th and takes in some of the most picturesque parts of the Peak District including Combes Valley Nature Reserve, the Big Moor and a walk through the grounds of Chatsworth House.

Unsurprisingly, the route also includes regular pitstops at some of the district’s finest country pubs.

“We’ve all been cooped up at home for the last few months and what better way to celebrate a return to normality than by exploring the local countryside and raising money for Young Minds at the same time,” explains Alex, Managing Director of Lesniak Swann.

“We expect the walk to be physically tough at times, especially for the kids, who’ll be carrying everything they need for the three days on their backs. However, this doesn’t compare to the struggles many young people face with their mental health, which is why we’re hoping to raise as much money as possible for the charity.”

Mark added: “The events of the last twelve months have been hard on everyone, but for young people with mental health issues, it’s been particularly tough. Young Minds works tirelessly to stop youngsters from reaching crisis point and does some amazing work which is so very important, and even more so today.”

The duo, who have been friends since they met at secondary school, are hoping to raise £1,000 for the charity. To support their great walk, and help them to reach their target visit here.
