Employees from Affinia, one of the UK’s fastest-growing accounting, tax and business advisory firms, came together in the run-up to Christmas to donate more than 5,000 food items to community food banks across East Anglia and the South East.
The firm-wide Christmas food bank drive took place across Affinia’s regional offices, including Colchester and Ipswich, supporting local food banks at a time of heightened demand. The initiative built on the success of last year’s campaign, when the firm’s Orpington office alone collected more than 500 items.
This year, the drive was expanded across all 14 Affinia offices. Each location ran a festive raffle with a twist: instead of buying tickets, staff donated non-perishable food items, with every item counting as an entry. All donations were then delivered directly to nearby food banks, helping to support individuals and families over the winter period.
Spencer Clewley, Accounts Associate Director at Affinia, said the response from staff had been overwhelmingly positive.
“Food banks were under real pressure this winter, and even small acts of generosity can make a meaningful difference to local families,” he said. “As an employer rooted in our communities, we were keen to stand alongside the organisations supporting people day in, day out. It was fantastic to see colleagues across all our offices, including here in East Anglia, getting involved.”
