Romaine Howard, Founder and Operations Partner at The IFA VA, was awarded the Outsourced Business and Operations Manager Award 2026 at the Business and Operations Management (BOMS) Network Conference in London on 1st October.
Michelle Hoskin, awards founder said: “BOMS has been built to support and champion amazing people like Romaine – those working in operations (either in-house or outsourced) are often the backbone of their business and too often go without the recognition and rewards that they deserve! The BOMS Awards are a step in the right direction and aim to raise the profile of those unsung heroes – powering businesses everyday! “
Romaine works with financial advisers and smaller advisory firms in the UK and internationally, helping them strengthen operational infrastructure, reduce reliance on key individuals and develop consistent ways of working that can support growth. She has more than 27 years of experience in financial services across UK and international markets. Her career has included periods living and working in France, Spain and Switzerland.
Romaine said: “So much of my work in operations happens behind the scenes. That’s the nature of the role, which makes winning this award particularly special. It recognises more than two decades of experience in financial services and eight years of hard work building The IFA VA into the business it is today. I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve built and the difference I make to the firms I support.”
The IFA VA offers outsourced support covering areas including CRM and data improvement, client servicing processes, document management, task ownership, capacity planning, business continuity and wider business strategy. Its work also helps firms improve workflow ownership, maintain reliable client data and gain clearer visibility across their operations.
