Birmingham hospitality workers set to walk 20km in support of Hospitality Action on Sunday the 25th of October.
Tonic Talent, the Birmingham-based hospitality recruitment agency, is once again hosting the Birmingham leg of Walk for Wellbeing on Sunday the 25th of October, in support of Hospitality Action, the industry’s dedicated charity.
Now in its seventh consecutive year in Birmingham, the walk sees participants cover 20km along the city’s canal towpaths, parks and landmark views, starting and finishing at Albert’s Schloss in Paradise, Birmingham. More than 100 walkers are expected to take part, either individually or in teams.
Hospitality Action supports hospitality workers in crisis, providing emergency grocery grants, funeral costs, counselling, addiction recovery support and a 24/7 helpline. Since Walk for Wellbeing launched in 2020, the event has raised over £500,000 nationally for the charity.
The walk has grown considerably since it began as a small gathering of participants in London and Birmingham in 2020. This year it takes place across 15 locations nationwide, including three new additions: Hampshire, Suffolk and Devon. Last year alone, over 1,400 participants took part nationally, raising £170,000 for Hospitality Action.
For anyone who can’t make it to Birmingham on the day, Hospitality Action’s “Walk It Your Way” option lets people take on the route in their own time, any day between the 10th and the 25th of October, while still fundraising as part of the national event.
Conrad Brunton, founder and MD of Tonic Talent, said: “We’ve been hosting the Walk for Wellbeing in Birmingham for seven years now, and I couldn’t be prouder of the people who turn out year on year. Hospitality Action supports people in our industry when they need it most, and that’s why we’ll always back this charity. We’ve loved watching the walk grow year on year, and we’re hoping for even bigger numbers in 2026. One thing’s for certain: the people of Birmingham know how to really show up.”
