Readers are being invited to escape to the sun-drenched Greek coast this autumn as bestselling thriller author Sabine Durrant heads to Glasgow to discuss her gripping new novel, Dead Heat.
The acclaimed psychological suspense writer will join Bookface for a special Sip & Swap event at Bunker, Glasgow, on Thursday 17 September, giving readers the chance to hear first-hand about the inspiration behind her latest page-turner.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of Greece’s rugged Mani Peninsula, Dead Heat follows former journalist Matt Grimshaw as he attempts to rebuild his life during a summer away with friends. But beneath the idyllic Mediterranean setting, tensions simmer, rivalries grow and a mysterious newcomer begins throwing lavish parties across the bay. When a shocking death rocks the community, the summer takes a sinister turn.
Known for her sharp psychological insight and masterful suspense, Durrant is the bestselling author of seven thrillers, including Lie With Me and Sun Damage. Before becoming a full-time novelist, she enjoyed a successful journalism career, holding senior editorial roles at The Guardian, The Sunday Times and The Independent.
Guests attending the Bookface Sip & Swap will enjoy an intimate live interview and audience Q&A with Durrant, alongside the opportunity to take part in Bookface’s popular community book swap. Readers are encouraged to bring up to four books to exchange from a collection of more than 300 titles while enjoying a glass of fizz or a soft drink and meeting fellow book lovers.
