L-R: Warren Mead, Lisa Wilson and Jason Fayers

Sumer has appointed two new National Co‑Heads of Tax to enhance its tax services across the UK and further support the 60,000 SME clients it serves.

From April 2026, Lisa Wilson, Partner and Head of Tax at Cowgills, and Jason Fayers, Managing Partner at Scrutton Bland, take on the new national leadership roles. Both are long‑standing leaders within Sumer firms and bring deep experience in advising SMEs and guiding tax teams.

The new structure is designed to make it easier to bring the full range of tax expertise to our clients. By combining national capability with local delivery, Sumer gives business owners the practical, hands‑on support they value, backed by the scale and specialist knowledge of a national team.

Over the coming months, Lisa and Jason will work closely with tax leaders across the Group to coordinate and build on Sumer’s services in Corporate Tax, Private Client, Innovation Taxes, VAT, and Compliance and Advisory.

Warren Mead, CEO of Sumer, commented: “This is an important step for Sumer and great news for our clients. Lisa and Jason are proven leaders who understand the needs of SMEs and the value of strong local relationships. Their appointment reflects the exceptional talent we have across the Group. By bringing our tax expertise together nationally, we can support clients even better while keeping the personal service they rely on.”

Lisa Wilson, National Co‑Head of Tax, said: “I’m incredibly proud to take on this role. We have fantastic talent across Sumer, and by working more closely together we can deliver even more value to our clients. I’m looking forward to helping build a national tax service that is practical, accessible and truly market‑leading.

Jason Fayers, National Co‑Head of Tax, added: “Stepping into this role at such an exciting time for Sumer is a real privilege. Our priority is to give clients clear, practical advice to help them make confident decisions and achieve their ambitions. I’m looking forward to working closely with Lisa and the wider team to ensure our clients continue to benefit from a truly joined-up, forward-thinking approach by bringing together the depth of expertise across our tax community.”
