Tickets are on sale now for Glasgow’s most novel night out on Wednesday 15th July and this time, it’s bringing more fizz than your group chat after two Proseccos at Berlinkys, as bestselling author and Queen of beach reads, Sophie Gravia returns to the Bookface Sip & Swap this summer.
Guests will be welcomed with a glass of fizz before an intimate in-conversation with Sophie Gravia, and will leave with a copy of her latest novel, Stars and Swipes. The evening also features a curated book swap, offering guests the chance to refresh their shelves with carefully chosen reads.
The Dicktionary Club girls are back and heading to New York. When Ella, Katy and Zola are invited to launch their infamous dating platform in the US with a Manhattan entrepreneur, they jump at the chance to escape their messy Glasgow love lives and live out their Gossip Girl fantasies. Set in a world of ambition, attraction and constant scrutiny, Stars and Swipes is a sharp, funny romcom about friendship, dating, and the reality that in New York, love is a game — and everyone’s playing.
Sophie Gravia, the Glasgow-based author who built a loyal following turning dating chaos into comedy gold, is the perfect guest for a night that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Expect sharp observations, big laughs, and the kind of honesty that feels like a voice note from your funniest friend.
Authors love being part of the Bookface Sip & Swaps which started in 2020 by avid reader Heather Suttie and Bookface has grown into a 15,000+ strong online community and live event series, hosting over 80 sold-out Sip & Swaps across Scotland.
Bookface Sip & Swaps blend relaxed author chats with genuinely good bookish energy — no homework, no pressure, and you don’t have to know the author or have read their work to enjoy the events. Previous guests include Val McDermid, Lisa Jewell, Tom Newlands, Claire Douglas, Shari Lapena, Juano Diaz, John Niven, Heather Morris, Davinia Taylor, Susannah Constantine, Chris Brookmyre and Helen Fields, with many more joining the conversation.
Guests are encouraged to bring along books to swap, but it’s not essential — you’ll leave with something either way. Whether you come for the books, the banter, or the bar, this is one night that proves stories are always better when shared.
Tickets available now and include a welcome drink, and a copy of Stars and Swipes.
