KEMP Hospice helping to clean up after Christmas with their real Christmas tree recycling event

KEMP Hospice are delighted to announce that they will once again be helping the Wyre Forest clean up after Christmas, with the return of their Christmas Tree Recycling event.

With the support of several local businesses, KEMP Hospice will be running real Christmas tree collections in a variety of local postcode areas between Friday 14th and Saturday 15th January 2022. With a donation to support the Hospice, local residents can register their address online and arrange a collection.

Jayne Sargeant, KEMP Hospice Fundraiser, said: “We know lots of people love a real Christmas tree at home for the festive season, but the hassle and mess of removing them can be a downside. This service will make life easier for people because the trees will be collected from their own homes and recycled for them. The event is always popular and it’s a great way for not only our local community to support us by making a donation to support our care services, but for us to support them by taking the hassle of recycling their real Christmas trees off their hands”

A number of local businesses are also backing the event, generously giving up their time and resources, with volunteers to collect and recycle the trees from people’s homes.

These businesses so far include the Linden Homes, Park Gate Development, Vistry West Midlands, Hobson’s Brewery, Severn Valley Railway, Yarrantons Tree Surgery, British Gas, De Beers Garden Centre, Bewdley High School, Stourport Rugby Club, Oakleaf Commercial Services, Ed Cameron Tree Surgery, Hatt Kitchens, Hodgehill Nurseries, Kelly Plant Hire, Enterprise Rent a Car, Wolverhampton Tree Services, Wyre Forest District Council, Pinewood Christmas Trees, Bow Windows, Blue Print Direct Mail, Richard Fraser, Bissell Wood Christmas Trees, Rosie’s Ground Maintenance and Hire-It Kidderminster Branch.

The event is also kindly supported by Aptean.

Kate Smith from headline sponsor Linden Homes/Vistry West Midlands said “We are proud to be sponsoring the KEMP Hospice Christmas Tree Recycling event. It’s great to see the community come together to give their support to such an essential local charity. KEMP Hospice does vital work, providing care for patients with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers – we are grateful for the opportunity to help them in this service.”

To find out if your address is located in an available postcode area, and to donate to register your real Christmas tree for collection, go to the KEMP Hospice website: www.kemphospice.org.uk/christmas-tree-collection.

Jayne continued “The event is very popular so we recommend registering your tree early as postcodes may be withdrawn if all available slots are taken. Registrations close Sunday 9th January 2022”.

If you would like to support KEMP Hospice by volunteering your time or services for the event, please email: Jayne.sargeant@kemphospice.org.uk and your business, club or your family can join in the festive fun.
