KEMP Hospice once again invites you to join them to light up a life this December

KEMP Hospice is pleased to announce the return of their very special Light up a Life Service this December, inviting you to make a donation and dedicate a light, in remembrance and celebration of loved ones.

On Sunday 12th December 2021 at 3pm, KEMP Hospice will be hosting the Light Up a Life service at St Mary’s Church, Kidderminster. The service is open to all and will feature selected readings, a chance to pause, reflect and remember much missed loved ones, and will be supported once again by the wonderful Valentines Choir.

Charlie Homer, Head of Fundraising and Communications at KEMP Hospice said, “Christmas last year wasn’t what many of us hoped for, and though we were able to hold our Virtual Light up a Life event, we are delighted that we can once again bring people together to celebrate and remember our loved ones as a community.”

Following the in-person service there will be a candlelight procession to the Swan Centre, Kidderminster for the annual tree dedication. Once the tree dedication has taken place, refreshments will be served, and local Clarinet group, Barrels and Bells Clarinet Choir, will be on hand to play some festive music for everyone to enjoy.

Charlie continued, “We know that this is a difficult and poignant time of year for many, with the loss of loved ones often felt more keenly at Christmas. We hope the event is a chance for the Wyre Forest community to come together, not only in support of KEMP Hospice by making a donation with their dedication, but to join with others who may find themselves in similar circumstances.”

Following the success of previous years, the Virtual Light Up a Life Tree is also once again returning, so your dedications can also be seen and shared online, at any time. KEMP are inviting you to select a light, write your message, upload a photo and make a donation to the Hospice to support their care in the Wyre Forest.

Each year, KEMP Hospice cares for over 1000 adults, young people and children living across the Wyre Forest District affected by life-limiting illness and bereavement. The service is open to everyone, and dedications are invited from anyone who wishes to share the memory of their loved ones, not just those who have an existing connection to KEMP Hospice.

This year’s event is kindly sponsored by Kidderminster Law Firm MFG Solicitors. Partner Tom Esler said: “The amazing team at KEMP Hospice do so much for so many families across Wyre Forest. The charity’s Light up a Life Service is an opportunity to bring people back together and celebrate the lives of loved ones. After such a tough year in 2020 it is especially important to see the return of the event this Christmas. As supporters of KEMP for many years, we’re delighted to be involved.”
