Katharine House Hospice is inviting people to dedicate a light on their Christmas tree in memory of someone special.
Last year the Katharine House Light up a Life service took place online due to the constraints of the Covid pandemic but this year it will be back in the hospice grounds.
Appeals Fundraiser Amy Ratcliffe said: Each light represents two sides of a special story… On the one hand the life of a person no longer with us and on the other, through the people they knew, they are still helping us to ensure that patients and their families share the best Christmas possible.
Supporters of the appeal will receive a personalised card bearing the name of their loved one, an entry into the Book of Lights, and an invitation to a special service on 12 December at 5pm.
KHH Chief Executive Officer Richard Soulsby said: Every year the lights on the hospice Christmas tree shine brightly, each with their own unique story, dedicated in memory of someone who is loved and missed at this special time of year. Light up a Life is important to so many people within our community. It is an opportunity to come together and remember those loved ones who are no longer with us, whilst raising valuable funds in their memory. We are delighted to be able to once again hold the event at the hospice this year.
All those wanting to dedicate a light can do so on the Katharine House Hospice website https://www.khhospice.org.uk/product/a-light-in-memory-of-a-loved-one/ or by calling 01785 270808.
The Light up a Life event is kindly sponsored by KGL Estates.
