FHT supports Southampton’s City of Culture 2025 bid

The City of Southampton is now a step closer to being named UK City of Culture 2025.

The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) is proud to announce that they have become a Patron member of Southampton’s Gateway Club, a new business-to-business networking platform, in support of the City of Culture 2025 bid. Southampton is one of the final four on the Shortlist alongside Bradford, County Durham and Wrexham County Borough.

Developed to support the delivery of Southampton’s bid to become UK City of Culture 2025, the Gateway Club sets out to become a catalyst for change, widening partnerships, and working across sectors in order to deliver greater opportunities for Southampton.

Representing the city’s cultural identity, The Gateway Club enhances Southampton’s diverse community, excellent businesses and world-class universities.

The impact of securing UK City of Culture 2025 cannot be overestimated. As well as creating thousands of jobs and boosting the city’s creative sector and tourism by millions of pounds, it would empower residents and help to improve the overall community wellbeing.

Claire Whitaker OBE, Bid Director, said: “We owe a huge debt of gratitude to so many people for the achievement of winning a place on this shortlist. Three years of sustained work and thousands of people supporting us – not just in the communities of Southampton but across the wider Solent region. The bid has brought the city together, embracing the world of creators, children and young people, artists, academics, businesses and civic leaders. This is a moment of celebration for all of us.”

Monica Price, The Federation of Holistic Therapist’s CEO, said: “We are delighted to be a Patron Member of the Gateway Club. Being part of the City of Culture bid for Southampton is such an important step forward for the City. Southampton is a thriving, cosmopolitan place and FHT are proud to be based here.”
