Brazilian restaurant Fazenda has created 70 local jobs, including waiting staff and management teams, which opened in Birmingham on Friday 16th November.
Capable of seating 220 diners for its rodizio-style service, all positions in the restaurant have been filled by Birmingham-based staff, with the management team, kitchen staff and passadores – who carve 15 different cuts of meat at the table – being trained extensively in the sister restaurants in the North West.
The brand has invested £2 million on the 10,000 sq ft restaurant at 55 Colmore Row, which will mark Fazenda’s fifth opening, adding to the operator’s growing portfolio.
As well as its premium meat and gourmet sides offerings, the restaurant serves fish, vegetarian and vegan options, and has built a reputation for quality wine. On opening, over 1,500 bottles of wine will be in stock, with a working wine room found between the two private dining rooms.
Whilst the private dining rooms provide intimate spaces to entertain, Fazenda will also boast a 60 cover events and dining room separate to the main dining space, lending itself ideally to conferences, team building days and private functions.
Tomas Maunier, Fazenda co-owner, said: “We can see from the calibre of restaurants in the Colmore District that great food and drink with impeccable service is paramount. We want to become a true supporter and partner within the Birmingham community, and hiring a team who know the city and people was very important to us.
“The city’s appetite is magnificent, and that is exactly why we wanted to open a Fazenda here. I’m very excited to see the people of Birmingham enjoying a true flavour of South America.”
