Staff from Doxey Primary School, near Stafford, have raised more than £5,000 for The Donna Louise Hospice for children and young people.

The colleagues organised a fundraiser, “Party on for Grace” in support of 2 year old Grace Sinclair who uses the services of The Donna Louise. Grace’s mum, Allyson, is the Deputy Head Teacher at Doxey Primary School and her colleagues wanted to do something to raise money for the hospice which supports her whole family.

The fundraising event took place at Kenny’s Sports Bar in Stafford and raised more than £5000 for The Donna Louise, which included a generous £1000 donation from Redrow Homes.

One of the organisers of the event, Lorraine McCaughtrie, said “The evening was really well supported by all of our family and friends, including Grace’s dad’s RAF colleagues, some of whom had travelled a long way to be there.

“On the night guests enjoyed a buffet meal, raffle and Golden Ticket prize draw, and an auction kindly carried out by Ben Gamble from Cuttlestones Auctioneers.  The evening was rounded off by a disco generously donated by Dan Allison from RAF Wittering. Thank you to everyone who helped make the night such a great success!”

Chris Belyavin, Regional Fundraiser at The Donna Louise, said “The money raised by the “Party on for Grace” event will make a massive difference to families like the Sinclair family, who rely on the support of The Donna Louise. On their behalf, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who was involved in raising this fantastic amount of money, which will pay for an overnight respite stay for 4 local families.”
