Browne Jacobson has appointed Gareth Davies as a corporate finance partner in its Birmingham office.

Gareth joins from DLA Piper in Birmingham where, as a senior associate, he led on advising mid-market private equity houses, management teams and corporate clients on major domestic and cross-border corporate transactions, with particular expertise in the technology and energy sectors.

Browne Jacobson’s award-winning corporate finance team delivered double-digit fee growth in the 12 months to April 2018 and is currently ranked in the top five most active corporate finance advisers in the Midlands according to the latest rankings from Experian.

Michael Stace, Corporate Finance Partner and head of the Birmingham office, said: “Gareth’s appointment is the fourth partner hire we have announced for Birmingham in the last six months and reflects our commitment to strengthen office with exceptional lawyers who can demonstrate an in-depth understanding of our clients’ markets.

“His proven track record of deal leadership and connections, particularly within the private equity market and across the technology and energy sectors, makes his appointment a perfect fit for us.

“There is a strong appetite for new investments as well as exits, particularly amongst private equity investors in the mid-market arena, and with Gareth’s arrival we will be in a stronger position to capitalise on these opportunities.”

Gareth Davies added: “Browne Jacobson has a formidable corporate finance offering in the Midlands and its reputation for working on high quality transactions, commitment to investing in people and delivering exceptional client service were important factors in my decision to join the team.

“I’m looking to leverage my experience and contacts in helping it broaden its domestic and international corporate finance footprint and strengthen its offering in key sectors”.
