Law firm Shakespeare Martineau has snapped up Alistair Spencer, who will join the firm’s contentious probate team as an Associate.
Following nearly four years at Brethertons LLP, Alistair joins the firm’s Stratford and Birmingham offices to support its private individuals, charities and trusts in a wide range of matters.
With a focus on resolving disputes concerning the validity and application of wills, as well as disputes or removals of executors and trustees, his approach involves solving cases both through the courts or via alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation. Alistair also has a particular interest in claims involving forged wills and capacity issues.
With the addition of Alistair, Shakespeare Martineau’s contentious probate team is now one of the largest in the Midlands. Of the five-strong team, two are members of the Association for Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), which is a professional forum designed for specialists in this area to exchange experience and best practice.
