A Warwickshire shopping centre security team who stopped a serious assault from escalating have won a top regional award.
The Ropewalk Shopping Centre Security Team in Nuneaton won ‘Best Team’ at the regional British Security Industry Association awards for their work.
The Westgrove Group, one of the largest independent security and cleaning companies in the UK, manages the team.
The security team were praised after they had to swiftly intervene and detail the main offenders to the police when a victim was being assaulted in the shopping centre.
Due to the sudden arrival of the team, they prevented a serious situation from growing and the victim only suffered minor injuries.
The BSIA holds awards both regionally and nationally to celebrate some of the outstanding personnel within the security industry who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their everyday work.
The regional award winners, which now go forward to the BSIA’s panel of national judges, serve to recognise the outstanding achievements and long-term commitments of those working within the UK’s private security industry. The winners will be presented at the British Security Awards in London on July 11.
