A personal assistant from Edgbaston-based Chartered Accountancy firm, JW Hinks, has been shortlisted in the region’s first-ever PA awards.
Hannah Cowell is among the 25 personal, executive and virtual assistants from Birmingham to be selected for the inaugural PA Forum award.
She was nominated for the ‘#Aspiration’ category by colleagues and partners at the firm, which celebrates newcomers to the industry.
Neal Aston, Managing Partner at JW Hinks, said: “The partners have been struck by Hannah’s quiet efficiency and ability to problem solve and complete tasks to a consistently high standard. She is deserving of this nomination in every way.”
Fiona Boyd, an Executive Assistant at JW Hinks, added: “Hannah projects a warm, cheerful attitude to both our clients and other departments and goes out of her way to help others. We were keen on showing our appreciation by putting her forward for this award.”
Hannah has recently delivered a 10-minute presentation to a carefully selected judging panel, consisting of Tracey Paton, Executive Assistant at Dignity Plc., Paul Faulkner, CEO at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, and Karen Morris-Lanz, founder of Waponi HR and former HR Director and CIO of Securitas.
Hannah, who joined JW Hinks in 2017 from an administrative role in the manufacturing sector, says she aspires to support and help all staff at the firm, including managers, partners, accounting assistants and in particular, trainees.
“In my role at JW Hinks, I want to bring new ideas and look at ways of improving workplace organisation. JW Hinks is proud to support and develop students within the firm and I am keen to develop over the next few months a database that monitors student progression so as a firm we can support our students in the best possible way, improving productivity and efficiency whilst celebrating their achievements,” said Hannah.
The winner of the PA Forum award will be announced on Friday 20 July at The Vox, Resorts World, NEC Birmingham. The awards ceremony will be raising money for charities LoveBrum and the Sir Josiah Mason Trust.
