Free legal clinic for businesses affected by Carillion liquidation

The liquidation of Midlands based Carillion sent shock waves throughout the UK and, just over a week on, the full extent of its failure on the region’s business community is still not clear.

“We have been working alongside businesses in the Midlands for many years and we understand the challenges they face,” comments David Ellis a Partner at Black Country based law firm Higgs & Sons.

“The closure of Carillion is already having a huge knock-on effect for many businesses, but we are only just beginning to understand the extent of the wider impact across the region.

“Higgs & Sons has been a source of support to the Midlands’ business community for over 140 years and, as a gesture of support for the area we want to offer our assistance to the many businesses and individuals who are affected by the liquidation.

“To that end we have gathered together a dedicated group of business specialists who will be available to offer free advice at a drop-in clinic to anyone affected by this insolvency.”

“Our experts will be available to offer advice on everything from contracts and employment matters through to business turnaround and debt recovery. We think it is important those who have been affected are clear on what options are available to them at such a difficult time.”

Higgs & Sons will be offering free consultations at a series of drop in sessions being held at its offices every Tuesday afternoon for the next three weeks.

The clinics can be accessed by visiting the Higgs & Sons Waterfront offices in Brierley Hill between 2-4.30pm each Tuesday until 13th February.
