Digbeth Dining Club, one of the Midlands’ most fondly regarded brands, is bringing some of the UK’s finest street food to Station Square at Friargate Coventry next month. Its Friargate debut will mark the start of a monthly Lunch Club which is set to make lunch times in the city a whole lot more exciting.
Digbeth Dining Club – winner of the UK’s Best Street Food Event – has been spearheading the Street Food revolution from its home in Digbeth, Birmingham, over the last five years.
It has rapidly expanded across sites in the Midlands including Coventry where it has run two successful event seasons in collaboration with Coventry Cathedral. 2018 will be its third year in the city and promises to bring more great street food to the people of Coventry than ever before.
The first Friargate Lunch Club launches on Wednesday 28 February from 11am until 3pm and the food line-up will include:
- Flying Cows: Crowned purveyor of the best burger at the 2017 British Street Food Awards
- The Middle Feast: Traditional Middle eastern inspired kebabs and mezzé using less than traditional flavours and ingredients
- Handmade Pizza: Woodfired Sourdough Pizzas
- Esmies: The Fargo residents create imaginative Caribbean food made with love in Coventry
- Bare Bones Coffee and Churros: Spanish inspired hot chocolate, churros and coffee
There will also be stalls from the Digbeth Arts Market which has grown organically since its establishment in 2016, blossoming into a loyal community of artists, designers and makers including award-winning creative designers Amrit Singh, Tom Wilson and Yujiro Suzuki. More than a market, it’s an opportunity for the public to engage with artists and designers, enabling them to work together to create bespoke commission pieces and support the independent art scene.

There is a real buzz about Coventry at the moment and we want to be part of that. Our previous events at Coventry Cathedral have been a huge success and we are keen to bring more fantastic street food to more venues, space and areas of the city this year.

From March, Digbeth Dining Club will bring the Lunch Club to Friargate every first Wednesday of the month.
