Moorlands business vows to do architecture differently

A Staffordshire business is vowing to do architecture differently as it embarks on its 15th year in business.

Hewitt&Carr Architects (HCA) who now have 1,500 projects under their belt, with some exciting ones to come, are introducing a new chapter to mark their business milestone.

As well as strengthening their commercial portfolio they’re transforming the way they communicate their services to ensure people see the value in what an architect can bring to a project.

As part of that the Cheadle based company is also introducing a new anniversary campaign logo: ‘Add – Architecture done differently,’ to highlight what HCA stand for.

Over the last 12 months HCA has won major contracts with a number of companies including Sharpsmart and their international parent company Daniels Property Group. They are working with them on capital projects in both Stoke-on-Trent and Essex and are hoping to work with them on further projects UK wide in the near future.

Hewitt&Carr Architects has grown considerably since it was set up in 2011 by founder Natalie Hewitt and former director Mark Carr. The company now forms part of the HC Group (comprising of two other businesses – Hewitt&Carr Services and Hewitt&Carr Developments.) *

Originally based in High Street, then Cross Street, the company now operates from Daisy BankHouse in Leek Road, and has grown from a team of two to a team of twelve and that number is continuing to grow.

Over the years the company has worked on hundreds of residential and commercial developments with clients including the New Vic Theatre, award winning GivEnergy, Broxap, as well as the Wrights Food Group.

Company founder Natalie Hewitt said: “We’ve come a long way since Hewitt&Carr Architects was launched. From a team of two working on residential projects to a much bigger team working on major commercial projects across the county, we are very proud of what we’ve achieved.

She said: “The world has changed hugely in the last 15 years and as a business we have grown and adapted but one thing that remains the same is our focus on people, which is why as we celebrate our birthday we wanted to launch a new way of telling our story, one that reflects who we are at our core. For us, architecture has never just been about buildings; it’s about people — how they live, work and grow.

Nat added: ‘Architecture done differently,’ is more than a slogan or a subtle logo change, it encompasses our mission and our mindset. It’s the belief that great design starts with real lives, and every space we create is shaped by the people who use it. With that at the forefront of our minds at HCA, we are excited for the future, the projects we’ll be working on and the difference that we can make to the architectural landscape around us. Over the next 12 months we will be looking to strengthen our commercial portfolio, whilst not forgetting our routes in the residential sector of course.”
