Latchingdon-based primary school, Christchurch Church of England Primary School, has recently received a positive Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) Report.
The Church of England Education Office conducted an inspection at the school and found that “the vision and values of the school are lived out in the daily experience of the pupils and staff”.
The report emphasised that “an effective leadership team has secured the firm base for learning and growth” and that “a thorough understanding of individual needs creates a nurturing culture of respect in the school”.
The inspector commented on the school’s curriculum, stating that it “focuses skills to foster enquiry and as a result engender spiritual growth”. It was observed that “the religious education (RE) curriculum is well-planned to broaden and develop understanding of world beliefs and respect for diversity”.
The report also noted that “staff members at all levels are valued and provided with quality training opportunities through the partnership” and that “the management of workload allows both staff and pupils to thrive”.
Head of School Mrs Hall and Executive Headteacher Miss Fairhead shared their pride in the school’s achievements, stating, “We are extremely pleased with the outcome of our recent SIAMS inspection. At Christchurch, we believe wholeheartedly in our vision of ‘Firm Foundations; Rooted in Love’. We are grateful that this has been acknowledged in such a positive light.”
