On the 29th of August, award-winning golden spiced rum brand Étän Rum will celebrate their partnership with Brityard with a VIP tasting session, complete with Cameroonian sounds and delicious bites.
Originating from the Caribbean in the 17th Century and now enjoyed all over the world, rum is synonymous with adventure, community, and a good time. The international appeal of rum has birthed countless variations, with distillers all around the world experimenting with different flavours and processes of creating the versatile spirit. Étän Rum puts their own twist on the beloved drink by incorporating the founders’ heritage and family story in its flavour and look.
Brityard is the new must-visit destination on London’s iconic Regent Street, curating the best-in-class homegrown brands and talents aimed to showcase the “best of British” to local consumers. As a new member in Brityard’s growing community, Étän Rum is excited to share their high-quality rum with enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.
This intimate event will highlight the Cameroonian culture that inspired Étän Rum, inviting press, influencers and VIPs to enjoy an inspiring tasting menu in the last summer days. Guests will enjoy a mix of Etan’s “perfect serves” as well as tasting the delicious drink neat, to really understand the flavour profile.
Guests will also be able to meet the founders of Étän Rum, the five Fosang sisters, and the Brityard team, while enjoying delicious bites from Cameroonian caterer Gem’s Delights.
What began as a side project has flourished into a premium 40% ABV golden spiced rum, embodying the special bond shared by the Fosang sisters. At its core, Étän Rum is a tribute to the sisters’ Cameroonian heritage. Cameroon’s diverse mix of indigenous herbs and spices subtly influences Étän’s flavour profile, a harmonious blend of botanicals found in and around West Africa.
The independent, black-owned and female-led business is slowly making itself known in the rum world, having secured a Silver Award at the 2021 London Spirits Competition.
