Bearsden favourite wins Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year as Partick street food spot takes Street Food Restaurant of the Year.
Two restaurants run by the same Glasgow team are celebrating a double win at the 10th Asian Restaurant Awards Scotland. Raja Rani in Bearsden was named Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year, while Rickshaw & Co in Partick took home Street Food Restaurant of the Year at the ceremony in Glasgow on Monday 21 September.
More than 250 restaurants and takeaways across Scotland made the shortlist after a public vote, with 24 winners named on the night. Glasgow accounted for 13 of those wins, including Rickshaw & Co’s street food award.
For Raja Rani, the win comes just weeks after its ninth anniversary in August. The restaurant was highly commended in the casual dining category at last year’s awards and has now taken the top prize. It also won Organiser’s Choice of the Year at the 18th Scottish Curry Awards earlier in 2026.
Raja Rani’s connection with its neighbours stretches beyond the dining room. The restaurant supports local charity initiatives and school projects in Bearsden and Milngavie, and has worked as a food partner with Homeless Project Scotland for the past six years, helping provide meals to people who need them.
Across the city in Glasgow’s West End, Rickshaw & Co has made its name over four years with Indian and Bangladeshi street food, small plates, inventive cocktails and mocktails, and a colourful setting made for sharing a meal. Its latest win follows Curry Café/Deli of the Year at the 2026 Scottish Curry Awards.
Rickshaw & Co is also a sponsor of Glasgow City FC, the women-founded football club, backing women’s football as part of its commitment to the city beyond its own doors.
