Aston Martin Aramco brings Formula One car to local Silverstone Primary School

Aston Martin Aramco today surprised local children when one of the team’s Formula One cars made a ‘pitstop’ at Silverstone CE Primary School.

The school, just a stone’s throw away from the Aston Martin Aramco Technology Campus and Silverstone Circuit, became even closer to the Formula One action as the children got hands-on with the F1 car, a steering wheel, racing gloves and even the team’s trophy from the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix. Aston Martin Aramco’s Head of F1 Academy and Driver Ambassador, Jessica Hawkins, was also at the school to meet with the children, helping to inspire the next generation of motorsport fans.

The local pupils showed their support for Aston Martin Aramco by creating posters to wish the team good luck. The posters were then transformed into a banner and hung around the perimeter of the school.

The school visit forms part of Aston Martin Aramco’s ongoing commitment to the local community, a key pillar of the team’s Make a Mark manifesto. From the outset of its journey, the team has strived to make a mark in the communities where we live and work, with a key focus on inspiring and educating the next generation.

Jessica Hawkins, Head of F1 Academy & Driver Ambassador, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team, said: “It’s been such a great morning at Silverstone CE Primary School surprising the pupils with one of our Formula One cars. This small village is recognised globally as being the home to one of the world’s greatest racetracks, and it’s also where the Aston Martin Aramco Technology Campus is based, so it’s really special to be able to show the local children what we do. I really hope we’ve inspired some of these pupils to get involved with motorsport in the future.”

James Bloomfield, Head Teacher, Silverstone CE Primary School, said: “Today was a truly memorable experience for our pupils, bringing the world of Formula One right to our playground! Our children were delighted to see their good luck posters transformed into this amazing banner too. We’re incredibly grateful to the Aston Martin Aramco team for this inspiring opportunity and we look forward to the relationship evolving between Silverstone Primary School and our local Silverstone based F1 team.”

The pitstop forms part of Aston Martin Aramco’s British Grand Prix campaign, which celebrates British sports culture by bringing Formula One directly to the fans. The Aston Martin Aramco car will continue its journey tomorrow, when the exhibition makes stops in Birmingham and Manchester.
