3 energy drinks ready to cause ripples this year

Energy drinks have been increasingly popular in both the US and UK for the better part of two decades, however in the last few years, energy drinks have seen another surge in popularity, thanks to the golden age of eSports, vloggers and content creators.

The ability to market and promote through these mediums has become considerably more common and usually the quickest way to popularity, especially when the target audience is typically from 16 – 25. Its appeal has reached the likes of many, sports personalities have tried to find success in creating their own energy drink with varying, however mostly positive degrees of success, making some of us aspiring entrepreneurs wishing we had access to a giant chemical storage tanks to mass produce at the drop of a hat.

2024 has been no exception, and has seen the rise (or Re-rise) of a few energy drink brands, but which ones have become the most popular, and which ones should you look out for? Here are 3 brands which may not necessarily have the most sales, but will potentially cause the biggest ripples in the industry by the end of the year.

PRIME

A Prime example (excuse the pun) of the power of influencers, this brand, masterminded by UK content creator KSI and the US based Logan Paul, has only moved from strength to strength since its inception in 2022. In 2 short years, Prime has not only amassed a roster of some of the most household athletes in modern sport, they have also managed to garner attention from giant companies too – to name a few, they have become the official energy drink sponsor for the UFC, have signed with gargantuan football clubs like Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, LA Lakers, and many more. Given the current trajectory, Prime will likely continue to amass success, so long as KSI and Logan continue to rule their respective fields.

Red Bull

Red Bull have long since donned the Energy Drink monopoly with an Iron Fist for the better part of two decades, and given their sales in the last few years, it doesn’t appear to be slowing down. Whilst they did experience a slight dip in the last 5 years, Red Bull have still continued to stay around the top spot, only really falling slightly to Monster in the US, however they still remain to be the top selling energy drink in the UK.

G Fuel

G Fuel was a later addition to the energy drink family, founded in 2012, however it’s the recent years that have afforded them some real success. Instead of attempting to obtain some of the Sports pie like some of their competitors however, G Fuel have found large success targeting the gaming world, collaborating with some of the most prolific gaming content creators in the world, and have managed to bring some of the biggest gaming companies under their umbrella, including Capcom and Bethesda, to create the vibrant and colourful displays that resonate so well with gamers old and young.
