All winners on stage 2017
The Midlands Family Business Awards – the only showcase for the family business sector in the region – will mark their 2018 launch this week with a breakfast event at Birmingham’s Opus Restaurant on the 9th May.
“By joining us for the launch, family firms will be amongst the first to learn all about the line-up of categories this year,” says Charlotte Perkins, MD of the Awards’ organiser and third generation family business, The Wilsons Organisation.
“The Awards team will unveil this year’s categories, detail the key dates and explain the 2018 entry process, whilst our guests will have opportunity to meet past winners and finalists, and the Awards’ sponsors and supporters.
“The Awards are now well established in the region,” Charlotte adds, “and winning a Midlands Family Business Award is considered one of the most prestigious and greatest accolades by each of our titleholders and finalists over the last eight years.”
The Awards are a not-for-profit, charitable initiative created to celebrate and recognise the success, achievements and innovations of the region’s family run and owned businesses. Since their launch, they have raised £30,000 for Midlands-based charities.
Entering the Awards is completely free and can be made from the 9th May to the 18th July 2018 via the website www.familybusinessawards.co.uk.

This year’s 10 categories will include some new categories alongside the coveted headline Family Business of the Year, Director of the Year, Fastest Growing Family Business, Innovation Award, Best Small Family Business, Employer of the Year and the People’s Choice Award, and the line-up of sponsors announced so far includes family business and current Midlands Family Business of the Year titleholder OrderWise, Buckles Solicitors, Goldfish, John Pye Auctions, Morningside Pharmaceuticals, PwC and Streets Chartered Accountants.
“Now in their ninth year, the Awards are firmly established as a highlight in the Midlands events calendar,” says Charlotte, “and this year they look set to be even bigger and more exciting than ever.
