Wyre Forest charity chosen as joint Charity of the Year by Stourport Mayor

L-R: Mayor of Stourport Tim Berry and KEMP Community Fundraiser Vicky Wootton

Wyre Forest charity KEMP Hospice are delighted to announce they have been chosen as joint charity of the year by the newly elected Mayor of Stourport. After successfully being voted into the position in May 2022, Mayor Tim Berry has chosen to support Wyre Forest Charity KEMP Hospice and Leapgate Activity Centre.

Cllr Berry said “KEMP has been a great source of support for both my family and I. Their nurse team were able to support my mother in the final few months of her life, and after her passing I was able to access bereavement support from their counselling team. KEMP Hospice provides a number of incredibly important services to the Wyre Forest community, including Stourport, and so I was very happy to select them as one of my chosen charities for the forthcoming year”.

Charlie Homer, Head of Fundraising and Communications said “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as joint beneficiaries of Mayor Tim Berry’s charitable activities throughout the next year. As a charity we provide all our services free of charge, so we absolutely rely on the support of our community to ensure we can continue to be there for people when they need us.”

KEMP Community Fundraiser Vicky Wootton is also looking forward to working with Mayor Tim Berry on some exciting activities in the forthcoming months. “It’s been a pleasure to meet Tim and to talk about some of the events and activities we have planned for this year. It’s wonderful that he wants to be actively involved with our fundraising events, and I hope this gives us a good opportunity to develop even stronger relationships within the community of Stourport”.
