Mindflow is proud to announce a new partnership with VolkerStevin, who join as the latest member of Mindflow United, an exclusive philanthropic collective of leaders across the construction industry committed to placing mental health firmly at the top of the agenda.
Taking the number 11 shirt, VolkerStevin’s support strengthens Mindflow’s mission to drive awareness, spark conversation and create meaningful change across the sector. This partnership reflects a shared vision: to ensure that no one in construction feels unheard and has to struggle alone.
As part of this collaboration, Mindflow will deliver a series of its impactful Talk Football Talk Mental Health sessions across the North West and beyond. These sessions bring former professional footballers, Mindflow Ambassadors directly onto construction sites to share their personal experiences of resilience, pressure, and overcoming challenges. By connecting through shared experiences, these sessions aim to empower workers to open up, support one another, and normalise conversations around mental health.
The partnership officially launched last week at VolkerStevin’s Kendal FRMS site which is a major project delivered on behalf of the Environment agency to enhance the flood defences through Kendal to over 1000 homes, where Mindflow CEO Trevor Steven presented the 11 Mindflow United shirt to John Cox, Managing Director of VolkerStevin.
John Cox, Managing Director of VolkerStevin, said: “The wellbeing of our people is fundamental to the way we operate at VolkerStevin. Joining Mindflow United reinforces our commitment to creating a culture where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical safety, and where people feel supported to speak openly and support one another. We’re proud to be working with Mindflow to help drive positive change across our industry.”
To mark the occasion, a Mindflow Ambassador, Curtis Woodhouse delivered a powerful Match-Up session on site to over 50 construction workers, using the power of football to bring teams together, break down barriers, and encourage open dialogue around mental health.
This initiative builds on VolkerStevin’s ongoing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of its workforce and contributing to positive change across the construction industry.
Trevor Steven, CEO of Mindflow, said: “We are delighted to welcome VolkerStevin to Mindflow United. Their commitment to prioritising mental health in construction sends a powerful message to the industry, that together, we can create environments where people feel supported, understood, and able to speak openly. The challenges faced across construction are real, but so is the opportunity to make a difference when we come together. Through partnerships like this, we can continue to break down stigma, start important conversations, and ensure that no one feels they have to face things alone.”
Through Mindflow United, industry leaders are uniting behind a common purpose: to drive lasting cultural change and ensure mental health is treated with the same importance as physical safety on every site.
