As Heart of England Community Foundation’s Chief Executive Tina Costello recently stated, technology is on the rise for a number of third sector organisations. Still, it’s also playing a significant role in the success of a number of exciting and innovative tech startups all over the country. Thanks to a global reliance on virtual solutions and all-around tech, these types of businesses appear to be in for a bright future.
Technology has certainly impacted the world. The constant innovation we are being exposed to highlights just how dramatic progress has been. Innovation is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon either, especially when you assess the new technologies and various products which continually come our way. One look at our smartphone devices tells its own story. From playing the likes of Snake and sending grainy text messages, we’re now able to access games like the Desert Treasure slot at casino.com, sample an augmented reality gaming experience with titles like Pokemon Go, order food using apps like Uber Eats, and take impressively high-quality images which are better than some of the digital cameras we used to flock to buy. That’s just one example, too. In fact, innovation has been off the charts.
UK tech startups are paving the way also, offering innovative solutions and raising huge sums of investment in the process. Below is a look at just some of the tech startups aiming to exhibit further growth in the near future.
Hopin
A popular networking tool used by businesses everywhere, Hopin has raised £419 million since January 2020 as it wins more and more people over with its range of excellent networking tools. Companies can create online networking events, make them public or private, they can make use of brainstorming sessions, send out virtual business cards, and ultimately communicate clearly and effectively using an online tool that offers a truly excellent service. Venture capital giants such as IVP and Tiger Global are behind Hopin as it looks to continue on its rise.

Cazoo
If you’re looking to buy a used or a new car, then Cazoo is the go-to option for many people. What sets Cazoo apart from many other services of its type is that users can purchase a car online and then have it delivered directly to their door soon after. A disruptor in the car supply chain, the company has done extremely well since its inception in December 2019. Venture capital firms such as Draper Esprit and Octopus Ventures have invested in the company.

With over £454 million raised since January 2020, Checkout.com is making a real name for itself. It comes as no surprise either given its impressive offering, which allows businesses to process all payments online in multiple currencies. Not only is it more efficient, but it’s also fully customisable and allows the company’s clients to make regional payments more easily, guard against fraud, and a whole lot more. Massive names like Deliveroo and Adidas use the service, which tells you everything you need to know. The company is currently valued at £10.8 billion, too.
Zopa
The first-ever peer-to-peer startup, Zopa has a range of investors who have their money spread across individual borrowers. In a clever move, direct repayments are also enforced to avoid risk. Users can get a personal loan, get help with car financing, credit cards, take out a fixed-term savings accounts, and a whole lot more. After raising a total of £296m in investment, Zopa is looking to go on an even bigger journey.
Special mentions to Oxford Nanopore Technologies, Rapyd, Graphcore, Zego, and Vaccitech, too.
