Top wellness trends for 2025 from The Happy Pear

David Flynn, one half of The Happy Pear, shares his thoughts on the wellness trends likely to capture the nation in 2025.

As we step into 2025, the world of wellness continues to evolve at a rapid pace, reflecting the growing desire for health, connection, and balance in our increasingly busy lives.

Over the past 20 years with The Happy Pear, we’ve been privileged to see firsthand how wellness trends shape and influence the way people eat, move, and live. Here’s what we see as the top wellness trends for 2025.

1. Personalised Wellness

With advancements in technology, wellness is becoming more tailored than ever. From DNA testing to gut health microbiome kits, people now have access to personalized insights about their bodies, helping them create bespoke health plans. In 2025, we expect this trend to grow even further, with AI and wearable tech offering real-time data on everything from sleep cycles to stress levels.

2. Functional Foods for Mental Health

The link between food and mental well-being has never been stronger. In 2025, expect more focus on functional foods—those specifically designed to boost mood, reduce anxiety, and enhance focus. Ingredients like adaptogens, nootropics, and gut-nourishing fermented foods are at the forefront. At The Happy Pear, we’ve always believed in the power of food as medicine, and we’re thrilled to see this approach gaining mainstream momentum.

3. Regenerative Agriculture and Conscious Eating

As climate concerns continue to rise, regenerative farming practices are stepping into the spotlight. This method of farming not only reduces harm to the planet but actively restores ecosystems, sequesters carbon and builds healthy soil. At The Happy Pear, we’re proud to have our own regenerative organic farm, where we grow vegetables using practices that replenish the earth and prioritize biodiversity. For consumers, it’s not just about eating organic—it’s about choosing foods that contribute to a healthier planet. We believe 2025 will see more people prioritizing local, seasonal, and regeneratively farmed produce.

4. Nature as Medicine

After years of digital saturation, people are turning back to nature for healing. Forest bathing, wild swimming, and outdoor movement practices are becoming essential parts of wellness routines. In Greystones in Ireland, we’re blessed with stunning landscapes, and there’s no better way to recharge than immersing ourselves in the outdoors. Steve and myself have been swimming in the sea at sunrise every morning for the last decade so we’re excited to see this trend grow globally.

5. Breathwork Goes Mainstream

We’ve been practicing and teaching breathwork on our app for years, and it’s finally getting the recognition it deserves. From reducing stress to improving sleep and enhancing focus, breathwork is one of the simplest, most accessible tools for wellness. In 2025, expect to see breathwork offered alongside yoga and meditation in studios, retreats, and even workplaces worldwide.

6. Community-Focused Wellness

The pandemic taught us the value of connection, and 2025 is all about collective well-being. From community gardens to group fitness classes and local health initiatives, people are realizing that wellness thrives in community settings. At The Happy Pear, we’ve always seen the power of community in driving lasting change, and we’re thrilled to see this become a key focus in the wellness world.

7. Alcohol-Free Living

The rise of mindful drinking and alcohol-free alternatives is continuing strong into 2025. Younger generations are embracing sober curiosity, and the market is responding with sophisticated alcohol-free wines, beers, and cocktails. This shift reflects a deeper cultural movement towards prioritizing mental clarity and long-term health over short-term indulgence. At The Happy Pear, Steve and I haven’t drunk alcohol for over 20 years, and it’s been a transformative choice for our health and energy. We’re also passionate about supporting others on this journey through our alcohol-free challenge on our app, helping people experience the benefits of living alcohol-free.

8. Hormonal Health and Women’s Wellness

Women’s health is taking centre stage, with more conversations around menopause, hormonal imbalances, and menstrual health. 2025 will see an explosion of products, education, and programs aimed at empowering women to better understand and support their bodies. At The Happy Pear, we’re passionate about this shift and proud to offer our Happy Menopause course on our app, led by senior consultant gynaecologist Dr. Nitu Bajekal. It’s all about breaking taboos, encouraging open dialogue, and providing women with the tools and knowledge to navigate this vital stage of life with confidence and vitality.

9. Micro-Adventures and Mini Wellness Breaks

With busy lives and limited time, people are turning to micro-adventures and short wellness breaks. Whether it’s a day of hiking, a weekend retreat, or a morning swim, these smaller, more accessible moments are becoming a vital way to recharge.

10. Everyday Sustainability

Finally, 2025 is the year where sustainability is woven into everyday life. From composting food scraps to reducing plastic and embracing plant-based diets, people are taking small, meaningful steps to reduce their footprint. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about progress. At The Happy Pear, we’ve always championed sustainability, and we’re inspired to see how it’s becoming a global priority.

As we embrace 2025, the future of wellness is one of inclusivity, simplicity, and connection. It’s about focusing on what truly matters—our health, our communities, and our planet.
