Cumbria law firm Thomson Hayton Winkley has bolstered its ranks with the appointment of family solicitor Jordan Wallace.
He has joined from Laker Legal Solicitors in Lancaster and is based at THW’s head office in Kendal, working alongside specialist family paralegal Jayne Grassing, who has been at the firm for more than 20 years.
Jordan advises clients on a range of matters, including divorces, finances, domestic abuse, issues relating to children, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation and separation agreements, and Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act (TOLATA) cases.
He has more than 10 years’ legal experience, having begun his career as a paralegal at Simpson Millar.
His appointment at THW follows the arrival earlier this year of Nina Hood as head of residential property and Phil Capstick, who specialises in litigation and dispute resolution.

In addition to its headquarters in Kendal, THW has offices in Windermere and the J36 Rural Auction Centre in Crooklands, which is home to its specialist branch, The Rural Law Practice.
The firm, which has a 55-strong team of lawyers and support staff, acts for individuals and their families and commercial clients, mainly in the tourism and hospitality sectors, including hotels, guesthouses, caravan and glamping parks, restaurants, artisan food enterprises and shops.
It provides advice on family matters, private client matters such as wills, trusts and probate, powers of attorney, commercial and residential property transactions and dispute resolution.
In 2023, Thomson Hayton Winkley and The Rural Law Practice were acquired by MAPD Group, which was founded by Brian Cullen and Joanna Kingston-Davies in 2020 to power the growth of local law firms nationally through acquisition. The initials stand for Making a Positive Difference.
