They shoot, they score! New venue between historic sporting grounds to open in Notts

Liam Wilkinson, Senior Associate and Solicitor at Nelsons

An exciting new hospitality venue is set to open in Nottingham’s prime sporting location following a commercial property deal advised on by local law firm, Nelsons.

The William Gunn, named after the famous cricketer, footballer and co-founder of renowned cricket brand ‘Gunn and Moore’, will be a pub, bar and restaurant in West Bridgford, Nottingham.

Located on Radcliffe Road, between the City Ground, home to the newly promoted Nottingham Forest, and the historic Trent Bridge cricket ground, the new venue promises something for everyone.

At the helm of the venture are Tom Holodynsky and Owen Roach, the brains behind popular sports bar Southbank City in Nottingham’s city centre.

Tom Holodynsky, Director of The Southbank Bar, said: “One of the things we’re most excited about is the location. The fact that it is between two of Nottingham’s great sporting grounds means it can become a hub for Nottingham’s sporting community, where they can come to celebrate the wins and likewise get over any losses.

“As well as the sporting community, we also look forward to being able to welcome residents of Nottingham, West Bridgford and Lady Bay to enjoy a bite to eat and a drink in this great city.”

Nelsons, which has offices in Nottingham, Derby, and Leicester, acted on behalf of the tenant to finalise the lease agreement with its new landlords, L&C Investment Limited.

Liam Wilkinson, Senior Associate and Solicitor at Nelsons, who worked on the deal, said: “I’m very pleased to see the deal get finalised. I think this location is going to be one that will stand out to locals and visitors alike.

“It has been a pleasure working with Tom and Owen as they open another venue in Nottingham and we wish them all the best with this exciting new chapter.”

Tom added: “Working with Nelsons made the process swift and straightforward which has been greatly appreciated and we cannot thank them enough. We can’t wait to open the doors to the venue and truly homage William Gunn.”
