The remote workers ultimate tool: New concept launches in Birmingham to transform the way we work

Sick of the commute from the bedroom to the kitchen table? Longing to escape the familiar four walls of your home office? With the constraints of coronavirus finally easing, a pioneering new platform aimed at connecting frustrated home workers with workspaces in local venues is launching this summer. Encouraging workers to swap their kitchen table for a sought-after spot in some of the city’s most unique and inspiring venues, Work From Here made its much-anticipated debut on yesterday (June 1), using Birmingham as its pilot city.

Leading the charge for a complete culture change in the way we work, the brand new platform will offer workers a directory of city-wide venues, providing collaborative working spaces and an opportunity for people to communicate, connect and create collectively. The pilot aims to build a community of remote workers, proving that hybrid-working and hospitality go hand in hand.

At the same time, the project also aims to help provide the city’s once-booming hospitality scene a solution to get back on its feet after being devastated by the impact of the pandemic. Already backed by some of the city’s favourite spaces, including Loki Wine, Penta Hotel and Jojo Lounge, more and more venues are signing up to Work From Here to help cure your case of working from home fatigue.

It’s not just hospitality venues making the cut either, as Work From Here aims to offer post-pandemic workers a chance to explore new settings in a bid to spark creativity. From creating budgets overlooking the city’s skyline at Park Regis to writing new business pitches in an executive box at Birmingham City Football Club, working remotely has never looked so thrilling.

Founder, Jo Seabright, comments: “Lockdown has, of course, accelerated trends in remote working and raised questions about the traditional office set-up that have truly never been asked on such a scale before. As we look ahead to the realities of hybrid working – both for COVID-security, but also consumer demands for those that have found flexible working more productive – we truly believe Work From Here offers a solution for both venues and employees into the ‘new normal’ and beyond.

“The pandemic has left us longing for that sense of connection and communication after over a year of seclusion; not to mention that the lack of physical separation between work and personal life means your brain never feels like it’s off the clock. With Work From Here, you can truly enjoy the best of both worlds: working in new, collaborative environments, but still being able to separate work and home.”

Giving users the opportunity to search, book, work all in one place, Work From Here debuts it’s pilot project in Birmingham on 1 June. Offering bespoke packages tailored to each venue’s offering, workers are able to sign up and have a world of venues offering bespoke packages including free and fast Wi-Fi, unlimited tea and coffee, and different tailored menu offerings.

“Work From Here was born from the desire to connect people like me; home workers who want to escape the four walls, with hospitality venues who welcome home workers. Each venue brings something totally different to the table from the décor and ambiance to the coffee and menu; giving workers the chance to choose what sort of workplace they’d like to immerse themselves in on that day, in a way that has never been done before. We cannot wait to open our booking system and truly hope that Birmingham’s venues and workers rally behind the project,” concluded Jo.
