Steve Bish
We are delighted to announce our newest Featured Member is Steve Bish of S Bish Estate Planning.
Steve is the founder of S Bish Estate Planning Ltd, a multi-award-winning company in Hertfordshire. For more than 20 years, Steve has delivered a direct, friendly and jargon-free approach to Will writing and Estate Planning.
For Steve, it’s personal. In 2001 as a member of a vintage scooter club, a very close friend was tragically killed while riding his classic Lambretta home from a club meeting and ride out, leaving behind a grieving family with a young baby. The family had no Will in place and in Steve’s words, “went through hell”.
It was this experience that inspired Steve to go into Estate Planning. “I want to protect and support people, having seen what happens when an expected death occurs with no planning in place,” Steve says. “I can help make sure their loved ones are looked after.”
In the years since, Steve has helped many families and individuals get the protection they need, whether it’s writing a Will, setting up a Trust or creating Lasting Powers of Attorney. Steve puts his clients at ease and in 2023, was deservedly recognised with two prestigious awards – the Best Independent Estate Planning Firm (for Hertfordshire) at the SME Legal Awards, and Estate Planning Service of the Year at the Innovation & Excellence Awards.
Strong partnerships are at the heart of S Bish Estate Planning and most recently, Steve has joined forces with Harpenden accountancy Cubed Consultancy to offer Estate Planning services as an invaluable employee perk. Steve also recently partnered with childhood mental health charity, CHUMS, to offer free Will Writing services in exchange for a donation to the charity.
As a result of this partnership, Steve is able to provide affordable support for his clients, while raising money to support vulnerable children, young people and their families.
Steve is a happily married father of five and recently welcomed youngest daughter, Emilia, into the business. Outside of business hours Steve enjoys keeping fit, Italian food (and wine!) and adding to his ever-growing collection of rare soul vinyl records.
