Thanks to players of The Health Lottery £24,863 has been awarded by The Health Lottery Foundation to Young Blue Room, a new programme of creative support and development opportunities for young learning disabled people aged 14-25.
For almost 20 years, Blue Room, part of The Blue Coat inclusive charity arts programme in Liverpool has supported learning disabled people to experience, create and share high quality art. Each year they provide over 1000 hours of person-centred support. Blue Room membership is a transformative experience for wellbeing, offering a supportive community with opportunities to build self esteem and confidence through creative self expression.
Martin Ellice, MD of The Health Lottery said, “Programmes like Young Blue Room show the true power of community funding — giving young people with learning disabilities the chance to grow in confidence, creativity and connection. We’re delighted that players of The Health Lottery are helping to make that happen.”
Thanks to players of The Health Lottery over £135 million has been raised for health and wellbeing projects across Great Britain.
