Thanks to players of The Health Lottery, a grant of £16,288 has been awarded to The Youth Adventure Trust by The Health Lottery Foundation to support vulnerable young people on a new Resilience Programme in Somerset.
This is a year-long bespoke programme of outdoor adventure providing a personal development journey to make a life changing impact on vulnerable young people.The charity uses adventure to empower disadvantaged young people, aged 11-16 from deprived areas of Wiltshire, Swindon and Somerset, to fulfil their potential and lead positive lives in the future.
They work with young people to build resilience, develop confidence and learn skills that will last a lifetime, helping them to face challenges in their lives. Nicola Keys-Toyer, Trusts Fundraising Manager said, “Thanks to the Health Lottery Foundation’s generous grant, we are able to transform vulnerable young lives through focused support to develop life skills, aspiration and future potential.”
The Health Lottery has now helped raise over £135 million for health-related good causes.
