The vast majority of tenants of a Shropshire housing association are happy with the service they receive, according to the findings of its latest independent tenant satisfaction survey.
Shropshire Rural Housing Association, which provides affordable homes in rural communities across the county, invited all tenants to take part in the survey, with 143 households responding.
The results showed that 86 per cent of tenants were satisfied with the overall service provided by the association, while 91 per cent said the organisation was easy to deal with and 89 per cent felt they were treated fairly and with respect.
The survey, carried out independently by Acuity Research and Practice, also found high levels of satisfaction with repairs services.
Nine out of ten tenants who had repairs carried out in the previous year said they were satisfied with the overall repairs service, while 89 per cent were satisfied with the time taken to complete their most recent repair.
John Green, chief executive of Shropshire Rural Housing Association, said the results reflected the organisation’s commitment to providing good quality homes and responsive services for tenants.
“We are pleased that the survey shows strong levels of satisfaction across many of the services we provide, particularly in areas such as repairs, customer service and the overall experience of dealing with the organisation,” he said.
“As a relatively small housing association, building good relationships with our tenants is extremely important to us, so it is particularly encouraging that so many respondents said they find us easy to deal with and feel they are treated fairly and with respect.
“However, surveys like this are not simply about celebrating what is going well. They also help us identify areas where we need to improve, and we take that feedback very seriously.”
The survey found that 85 per cent of tenants were satisfied that their home was safe, while 82 per cent were satisfied that their home was well maintained. More than seven out of ten tenants said the association listened to their views and acted on them.
Mr Green said the association was already using the feedback to help shape future priorities.
“We are grateful to every tenant who took the time to complete the survey,” he said.
“The feedback gives us a valuable insight into what matters most to the people who live in our homes. We will use the results to help improve services, strengthen communication with tenants and ensure we continue to provide homes that are safe, well maintained and affordable for local people in rural Shropshire.”
